Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, head of the Institute of Biomaterials (WW7), was elevated to Fellow of the European Ceramic Society and received the fellowship certificate at the XVI Conference of the European Ceramic Society (ECERS) held in Turin, Itay, from June 17th to 20th 2019.

ECERS fellows are persons of good reputation who have been members of a national ceramic organization that is affiliated to ECERS. The elevation to the grade of Fellow is based on outstanding contributions to the ceramic arts or sciences; through broad and productive scholarship in ceramic science and technology, by conspicuous achievement in ceramic industry or by outstanding service to the Society.

“It is a great honor to have been elected Fellow of ECERS”, Prof. Boccaccini said, “The Society has been an important part of my career for many years. My first ECERS conference was indeed in 1993, when I was a PhD student at RWTH !”
