Save the Date: 60 Years Materials Science in Erlangen and WW summer party
The Department of Materials Science cordially invites you to its traditional summer party and its 60th anniversary.
60 years of materials science in Erlangen is a long success story. When the department was founded, the innovative concept of integrating the various classes of materials in one department was implemented for the first time in Germany.
Based on this, Erlangen has developed into a world-renowned center of materials science research and education. A very large network of Erlangen materials scientists has formed, and it is nice to meet former graduates of the department so often.
Materials science in Erlangen is a flagship of FAU with many ERC award winners, highly cited authors and many successful third-party funded projects. Recently, the Erlangen degree program was once again listed as the best degree program at FAU in the international QS ranking.
This year, we are once again delighted to be able to award study prizes to the best Bachelor students, donated by the company Semikron Danfoss, two study prizes to promote stays abroad, donated by the company Brose, as well as one Bachelor, two Master and four doctoral prizes from the Department WW for outstanding achievements. After the lecture event, we will meet in the garden in front of the building for drinks, snacks and live music.
