Dr.-Ing. Pablo Jiménez Calvo

As of January 2023, Dr.-Ing. Pablo Jiménez Calvo from the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces has joined the Corrosion and Surface Science Chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

He was awarded a Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship by the EU to conduct research at the laboratory of Professor Dr. Schmuki.

LASERION consists in two years multidisciplinary project, aiming at design and characterization of carbon-based support materials for photo(electro)catalysis. The goal of the materials development is to expand the applications of conventional carbon materials by integrating two-dimensional support materials by anchoring smaller chemical compounds (referred to as “antennas“) for a variety of purposes. The proposed carbon-inorganic interface materials pursue to advance the fundamental understanding and facilitate the rational design of advanced energy materials.
